Today we did the tourist thing, skating around the city and checking out some of the downtown sites. Tim and Marius tried out some fish therapy, it must have worked because Marius ended up skating the sizable handrail at the entrance to business plaza. After which, a local skated by the name of Walrus was kind enough to invite us to his English Club where we played some ping-pong and ate fish and chips. On a final note, happy B-Day Gary!

It's pretty hard to leave the air conditioned Love Skatepark when the streets of Singapore are filled with more security guards and skate stoppers than you can shake a stick at. Never the less, we still tried and pretty much an A for effort was all we managed to eek out. Aside from dodging the powers that be, you still have to avoid the random thunder showers and brave the ridiculous heat.

Singapore Tour Day 3

A bit of a lazy day, the sun was in full effect causing t-shirts to become fully soaked just walking around. Our attempt at thwarting mother nature by waiting til the evening to hold the last demo was a failure. Some gloomy clouds and a bit of downpour cut the skating a little short. Hopefully the kiddies in attendance weren't too let down, after tossing out some product and signing autographs we went out for a night of Singapore cuisine and Tiger beer.

Day 2 can be summed up in one word, SWEAT. Thanks yous to all the kids who came out to East Coast Skatepark.

Wow. Twenty four hours later and we made it! Wait, almost made it, Kerry missed his flight and couldn't get on another one for under $4K. So he decided to stay in Philly. Too bad, because he really missed out. Day 1 went quite well considering that we are all jet-lagged out of our minds. Started off with a demo and signing at Love Skatepark, tons of kids, tons of hype. Tons of fun! After a few hours of shredding we decided to end the day a little early due to some serious baggy eyes and sleep deprived brains. Nighty night.

Rained Out

Some serious bad weather, plus a tsunami warning cut the tour a few days short. Thanks to all for attending!

Day 5

-3.jpg
-4.jpg

Today is Dr. Suess day. Not really sure what that all entitles, but to celebrate, a local school had us come by and do an impromptu demo. Strange as it was, we still had a lot of fun. Showed up to the Bishop skatepark a little late due to a traffic jam caused by a loose hand grenade on the freeway. Closed out the night by having some beers at Hensley's bar in Carlsbad.

Day 4

Tim O made the drive all the way from Arizona to meet up with us and help out with some demoing. Evan and James of Liberty fame were also on hand to act as ambassadors to the great city of Brea. Shredded some demos, stoked out some kiddies, had a feast and now we are off.

Another rough day on the road. Self diagnosed with severe food poisoning our master lensman, John Fool, had to take the day off. Dgar showed up today and will be along for the rest of the ride. Skated the Venice park and relaxed on the beach. Then we went to Hollenbeck park, where we pleasantly surprised to see A.V.E. getting some shred time in. Next stop, Brea!

Dgar! Where you at? Toured Powell and saw how it all goes down. John Fool got hit by a car and lived to tell the tale at the SB skatepark. I think Alex is homesick, he's been away from The Nati for almost 2 months. Marius and Daryl's old TM from Osiris kiddie days hosted a pizza party at his new skateshop, PushXChange. Thanks Craig!

Highways and Byways Day 1

Made the drive up to San Luis Obispo. Marius, Austyn and Alex spent the majority of the day trapped in the airport, Marius' bag was sent to San Francisco and we almost got arrested on the streets of Solvang. Overall pretty rough start to the trip. On the positive side of things Austyn hosted the kickflip challenge and the lucky winner took home a pair of shoes and board. More updates to follow...

On the third day and last leg of this weekend tour we went to Pro Skateshop in Point Pleasant, NJ which is owned by Bob Loseedo. If you ever wondered why in some photos when people are skating a random pool in the tristate area there may be some spray paint that says "Bob Loseedo Wears A Speedo". Well I guess the reason is that it obviously rhymes and Bob Loseedo lives in the vicinity. We all met again at Pro Skateshop where some sort of car show was taking place on the street that the skateshop is located on and they even closed off the street for this event.

WaWa Weekend Day 2

IMG_0966.JPG
IMG_0461.JPG

On October 3rd we found ourselves at the CCS store in the Paramus Mall. Apparently this mall is one the most blitzed out mall on the face of planet friggin' earth! It took a while for a few of us to even get a parking spot anywhere near the mall and I believe some of the guys had to pull some cold-blooded parking spot theft if they were ever to get out of their cars and into the CCS store.

WaWa Weekend Day 1

Fred Fuck The IRS.JPG
Small Empire Applebee's.JPG

On Friday the 2nd day of October in the year 2009 Anno Domini a handful of the Habitat team gathered in the New Jersey quadrant of the United States of America. Attending this particular gathering were Habitat riders Fred Gall, Silas Baxter-Neal, Kerry Getz, Alex Davis, Steve Durante, Austyn Gillette, and myself....Tim O'Connor. We were all summoned together to demo and swing sharpees around and all over the state of New Jersey.

We're back! Seattle was great. The weather held out for the most part at the demo and the park was packed with kids. Who scored tons of Habitat freebies. Thanks to the Goods shop for everything.

Freddy and Bryce are out about in Portland today. But most of us our back in our respective homes. Thank god cuz one more day and I was going to have dreds. Mad props to all the shops, cities, skaters, and crews for making this a fun trip.

Demo today at Bellevue Plaze, 2pm. Be there!

How did we end up here?

photo(3).jpg

North Bend, WA. Randomly, the place where they filmed the Twin Peaks television show. We got rained out of the camp sight after getting lost in the creepy Tinkham National Forest in the pitch dark. So we settled at the Sunset Motel where nothing worked. Did I mention Fred found a beer named after him?

Bartendress: What can I get you?
Fred: Give me the strongest thing you've got?
Bartendress: Well that would be the Fred.
Fred's mind is blown.

...or setting up camp in the dark seems to be the themes of this trip. Thanks to Jeremy for allowing us to destroy his father's cabin in Cascade Locks for a couple days. The Hood River demo had the best weather so far and one of the coolest wooden coverings I've seen at a skate park. It was a good turn out and everyone was stoked.

Many, many, more places to take over. If you are in the Portland area check out the demo at The Department of Skateboarding today Sunday Aug, 9th @ 5pm.

Eugene is one of those random places you stop and wonder why you've been there numerous, numerous times. It's not a big city. You don't pass through it to go anywhere. But it is the birth place of one Silas Baxter-Neil, a community super psyched on skateboarding, and always very welcoming to the Habitat Team.

Thanks to BoardSports INC and the Eugene Skaters.

Bored to distraction.

On the way to Eugene for a signing at Board Sports Inc then a demo at Cal Young.

Thursday Aug. 6th, 2009. Rhododendron, OR: Demo at Windells Camp. The self proclaimed "funnest place on earth". We arrived at a paradise for the average tween North Western board sporting youngster. A place to answer their summertime camp dreams. I would make my lil guys come here. They would have no choice.
