East Coast: New Jersey

To think we've only been on the road a week, but after 8 demo's in a
row it seems like months and it sure as hell takes it's toll, home
ain't a bad place to stop on these tours. So far Me and Kerry got
sick, I'm thinking this happened after sharing that seafood platter in
Springfield Mass, Freddy and Steve are banged up pretty bad, knee and
ankle hot pocket's, Ed and Guru on the other hand are out tonight with
Andrew, filming with a geni and lights in hopes of getting some extra
footage for the field log, these two just don't quit. Tomorrow we head
out to Philly for a demo at Kerry's shop so if your in town stop by
and bring us some cheese steaks.

East Coast: Boston

Being in Boston on a tour with Ohio plates can be a bad thing during
play off games, everywere we went people were talking shit. The
night of the last game we came out of the bar to see 3 roudy fans
rocking the van back and forth trying to flip it. To our luck this guy
comes running over yelling "EXCUSE ME, WHO AM I" chasing off the
jock goons, it was the one handed push up man. This guy was ill, he
would do 40 one handed push up's in 60 seconds. He had a beer with us,
did about 300 one armed push up's and moved on. Anyways next time
someone sings me the song "Please come to Boston" I'll make sure we
dont have rival plates on the car, this will save us a big head ache.

O' Connors Update

It is the human being known as Tim O'Connor here with one of these
update things.
I am in Berlin, Germany right now on an Adidas trip with a bunch of 3
stripe rockin' mo fo's and one of those peoples is Habitat
International's Gunez. Today was the first real day of the trip and we
skated a couple of ludicrous tranny spots along with one chunky ledge
before it started to rain. Then we all ate a dumpload of Turkish food
under big umbrellas while we watched some Turkish thug repeatedly slap
his girl in the face with his hat. She was crying and I was almost
going to interrupt and say something to put a halt to the scene. But
they most likely wouldn't have understood a thing I was gonna utter
since we're in Germany and I would've been speaking all sorts of
English. I also ended up refraining from saying anything because I
didn't know what was going on and it very well could have been that
the girl deserved what she was getting. Who knows...maybe she made
sweet love with the dudes brother or something the night before. So
instead I just sat back, ate my Turkish treat, and watched her cry for
entertainment.

Pretty much everybody filmed a trick today and got some photos for a
Thrasher article that we're shooting for on this trip. So keep your
eyes peeled and look for that article in the not too distant future.
I'll try to hop on this information highway access device when I can
and hit you up with some more in depth updates as the events unfurl.
Peace for now you dirty mammals.

Charley Harper (1922-2007)

We are saddened to announce the passing of Cincinnati based artist and recent Habitat contributor Charley Harper. Charley died on Sunday after battling Pneumonia for the past few months. We feel blessed to have been given the chance to meet him and will always be inspired by his work. He loved the natural world and illustrated it better than anyone.

Dgar and Silas Update

These two were recently in Peru on the "Take ES To Your Spots" mission. After skating some marble plazas and purchasing some cheap cigarettes they returned home to the US. Guru's Croatia Update

A FEW WORDS WHILE ON THE ROAD WITH GURU KHALSA

Where are you at right now?
I'm laying in bed in Zagreb Croatia.

And you're staying at a hostel?
Yeah.

Sounds kind of Ghetto.
Yeah its just like that horror movie "hostel". No,
actually its super nice, except that you might be
waken to a bunch of other noisy tourists, Plus its
also a good way to save money if your on a budget.

What happened in London?
OK, so I was brushing my teeth and I saw a power
converter in the wall, So I told brennan that he could
charge the batteries for his camera. (He didnt have a
power converter for england) so he plugs it in to try
and charge the battery and BOOM camera charger is
done, fuse blown. So now we had the whole trip ahead
of us with one charged battery. we all thought we'd be
okay and be able to buy a charger in Croatia, but no.
Apparently you cant buy the charger we needed in
Croatia.

Why were you in London again?
We were in London because we could fly to Croatia for
super cheap only if we connected a day in London.

Who's stupid idea was this trip?
It was all brennans idea, not stupid though. We just
had a lot of misfortunes so that kind of sucked.

Did you get anything done in Croatia?
I guess you'll just have to wait and see.

So Croatia is pretty good for skating?
There is some pretty fun stuff. Its an even better
place to come visit. Everyone should check out the
city Split. It's an amazing beach town.

Are you feeling any pressure knowing that there is
only a few months to film for the vid?
I try not to think about it, but now that you mention it
maybe a little.

Following the success of our Hemp Ply comes Habitat Bamboo Ply. The deck is a blend of both Canadian Maple and Bamboo. This construction is more ecologically sound then a traditional 100% Maple skateboard. Bamboo makes up 15% of the deck using less Maple wood and utilizes the incredible growth rate of farm raised Bamboo. Habitat Bamboo Ply Construction utilizes the natural characteristics of both woods. Bamboo is light and resilient while Maple has a proven record for strength. October 14, 2005 | Mark Ericksen. 1959-2005
We lost a great friend yesterday with the passing of Mark Ericksen.
Mark was a true inspiration to everyone who knew him. He had a very bright and loving spirit and was always willing to help those in need.
He had a passion for life and skateboarding and made a huge contribution to the Dayton, OH skateboard community. He helped build and run the Front Street warehouse, helped build the Kettering Rec. Center skatepark and owned and operated The Visitor Center/Fat Mike's Skatepark with Shawn Combs. This was at a time when this was the only public place to skateboard indoor in Dayton/Cincinnati. The doors were always open to everyone and Mark took a lot of kids under his wing and fostered them and helped steer them in the right direction.
His friendship to all who knew him will never be forgotten and his contribution to the companies is immeasurable. Mark will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
